This is Facebook's version of re-targeting.

Target any of your viewers that also have a Facebook account with targeted Ads.

With the Facebook Pixel, you are able to target Facebook users with your advertising, once they engage with your website.  Many companies participate in this new marketing technique if they can afford it.  There are several ways to go about re-targeting users across multiple platforms.  Facebook has leveraged their already existing advertising model and found a way to tie it in better with your website and get some of your advertising revenue.

Someone interested in something specific? Show it to them again.

Have you found yourself ever interested in a product on a website, and then found that product following you everywhere that you visit on the web?  Facebook can allow you to customize your Facebook Pixel re-targeting strategy down to individual products.  This way, you can show any of your consumers that same product that they were interested with more advertising on the Facebook platform.
